Mission
Xcel University was founded by Metta World Peace, and has two major aims.
The first is to encourage children and teens living in high-poverty and high-risk environments to complete their education, get good grades and encourage them to become community leaders by volunteering their time and giving back to their communities.
The second is to bring public attention to the importance of mental health awareness, emphasize the benefits of accurate mental health diagnosis and good quality care, and fundraise for nonprofit mental health organizations that provide quality mental health services. We believe that good mental health is crucial to advance the well-being of individuals, families, and society as a whole.
"It's all about positive energy! Connecting the youth to the youth, and educating so that they have something to look forward to, especially the youth that's lost. That don't know what to do with their lives.
I'm just bringing a little bit of light!"

Metta speaking at a Board of Supervisors meeting on the importance of Mental Health. The Los Angeles Board of Supervisors had made a special presentation to honor Mr. World Peace for his advocacy and commitment to promoting mental health awareness, and for encouraging youth to seek mental health services by spreading his message of wellness and recovery.
